Graduate Certificate in Global Health and Latin American and Caribbean Studies
This certificate is intended to create a unique interdisciplinary professional training experience for students interested in global health issues among Latin American and Caribbean populations. Within the field of public health in Latin America and the Caribbean, its particular focus is on public health assessment strategies, the systematic collection, assembling, and analysis of health data to illustrate an area’s health situation. Through this graduate certificate program, students will be exposed to current challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean and reach an understanding of the way global public health issues unfold in the region.
Required 15 credit hours:
LAS 6936 Latin American Seminar (3 credits)
PHC 6934 GH Special Topics: Global Health Assessment Strategies in Latin America (3 credits)
LAS 6913 Independent Study & Research in Latin America (3 credits) OR:
PHC 6907 Independent Study in Public Health (3 credits)
